Monitor arms offer a simple way to create a cleaner, more flexible workstation by raising computer screens away from the desktop and allowing their position to be adjusted to suit the user. They can also free up valuable desk space that would otherwise be occupied by conventional monitor stands.
Depending on the model, a monitor arm can allow the screen to be raised, lowered, tilted, rotated or moved forwards and backwards. This makes it easier to position the monitor at a comfortable viewing height and distance, particularly at workstations used for long periods of computer-based work.
Single monitor arms are ideal for straightforward desk setups, while dual and multiple-screen monitor arms can support users who need two or more displays. This can be especially useful in finance, design, administration and other roles where several applications or documents need to be viewed at the same time.
Most office monitor arms attach directly to the desk using a clamp or through-desk fixing, helping to keep the workstation neat and uncluttered. Many also incorporate cable management, allowing power and display cables to be routed away from the main working area.
Whether fitted to a straight desk, bench workstation or height adjustable desk, monitor arms can help create a more organised workspace while giving users greater control over the position of their screens.
