Office Furniture UK is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for our employees, customers, contractors and visitors.
We recognise our responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and are committed to preventing work-related injury and ill health by effectively managing health and safety risks arising from our business activities.
Health and safety is the responsibility of everyone within the business, and we are committed to maintaining high standards across our showroom, warehouse, office, customer sites and during deliveries, installations and office clearance projects.
Our Commitment
Office Furniture UK will:
- Comply with all applicable health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Provide and maintain a safe working environment for employees, customers and visitors.
- Identify, assess and manage risks associated with our business activities.
- Provide suitable equipment and ensure it is maintained in a safe condition.

- Provide employees with appropriate information, instruction and training.

- Review health and safety procedures regularly to ensure they remain effective.

As an office furniture supplier, installer and office clearance specialist, we recognise the importance of managing risks associated with:
- Manual handling of furniture and equipment.
- Deliveries, loading and unloading vehicles.
- Office clearance activities.
- Use of lifting aids and handling equipment where appropriate.
- Working at customer premises.
- Warehouse and showroom safety.
- Working at height using suitable access equipment where necessary.

Suitable risk assessments will be carried out where required, and appropriate control measures implemented.
Employee Responsibilities
All employees are expected to:
- Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions.
- Follow company health and safety procedures.
- Use equipment correctly and report any defects immediately.
- Wear any required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions to management without delay.
- Cooperate fully with the company in maintaining a safe workplace.
Customer & Visitor Safety
We are committed to providing a safe environment for customers visiting our showroom and for employees working at customer premises.
Where work is undertaken on customer sites, employees will comply with the customer's health and safety procedures, site rules and any agreed methods of working.
Responsibility
Overall responsibility for health and safety rests with the Directors of New & Used Office Furniture Ltd.
Management is responsible for implementing this policy, carrying out appropriate risk assessments, maintaining safe working practices and ensuring employees receive suitable guidance and support.
Every employee has a responsibility to work safely and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
Monitoring & Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner if there are significant changes to legislation, business activities or working practices.
